Soundcheck: This new track will make you miss the nightlife—if you haven’t yet

Music producer and DJ Arthur Tan can't wait to get back to the clubs. And, honestly, same.

Everyone loves (and misses) the clubs that, after our long days, would welcome us with even longer nights. But there are few who miss the world that comes alive after midnight as much as Arthur Tan. Part of the Logiclub collective, this NYC-based Filipino music producer and DJ is an emerging name in both the local and international underground scene.

As a sweet treat to fans, Arthur recently dropped a new track straight out of the quarantine afterparty state of mind. The single elevates his subtle and dreamy dance tunes with more snappy kicks one after another.

We must say, “Sleepwalking” hits the sweet spot—no hybrid frenzy like
the soundtrack to Californian teens gone wild in the middle of the pandemic. It is just good, clean yearning for a better time.

Arthur’s current goal is to hear the song playing in clubs and bars as the pandemic ebbs. And we are patiently waiting right along with him. Until then, veering away from his usual inspirations radiating from physical clubs and parties, he takes a cue from electronic duo Flight Facilities and German music producer Nova Casa to create something relevant in a clean slate.

For this track, he experiments with Night-Drive music arrangements and a mix of percussion and synthwave instruments that exude “the danceable and calming vibe we could all use right now.”

He is also currently working on his beat tape “After the Party,” which is scheduled for release later this year.

“Listeners can expect to hear a collection of beats and songs that have a similar feel as 'Sleepwalking,' dance music you would want to listen to after a night out with your friends at 3 a.m.," Aurthur shares with Manila Bulletin Lifestyle.

"Sleepwalking" was released independently and can be streamed on Spotify, Soundcloud, and Apple Music.
