Vessel operations resume in several routes in Catanduanes


Vessel operations in  several routes in Catanduanes have already resumed, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) announced.

Sea trips from the Port of Tabaco City to San Andres, and Virac in Catanduanes, and vice versa resumed on November 3, the latest advisory from MARINA said. 

Vessel operations in these areas were halted due to the onslaught of super typhoon Rolly, which made strong landfalls in the Bicol Region on November 1.

"M/V Starferry plies the Tabaco Port to San Andres Port, Catanduanes while M/V Eugene Elson caters passengers travelling from Tabaco Port to Virac, Catanduanes, " the agency said.

According to MARINA, the departure of the vessels from Tabaco Port will start from 7:30 a.m. until 12 midnight daily, while trips departing from San Andres start at 6 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. 

Meanwhile, arrivals at San Andres Port start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:30 a.m. the next day while arrivals at Tabaco Port begin at 8:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. the next day.

Passenger rates for those traveling from Tabaco City to San Andres, Catanduanes range from ₱150 for children, ₱240 for senior citizens and students, and ₱300 for regular passengers on the Mabuhay (airconditioned) class. 

For non-airconditioned accommodations, children are charged ₱150, senior citizens and students are charged ₱184, and regular passengers are charged ₱230.

Cargo rates from Tabaco City to San Andres range from ₱18 to ₱180 depending on the type of cargo while Ro-Ro rates range from ₱330 to ₱1,690 depending on the type of vehicle, MARINA said.
