Northern Samar comes to aid of typhoon-ravaged Catanduanes, Albay

The governor made the announcement following reports on the extent of damage brought by typhoon Rolly in Catanduanes and Albay.

While many other areas in Luzon were hit by “Rolly”, the two Bicol provinces suffered the most from the violent winds and intense rains, resulting in flooding and loss of lives and property.
By sending aid to the two provinces, Ongchuan said he was hoping to return the gratitude of Northern Samar when provinces and other local government units (LGUs) came to its aid during its own time of crisis.

“It is during these difficult times that we must exhibit brotherhood amongst provinces,” he said.

The governor also welcomed donations for those who are willing to help.

He added that it can be in the form of instant food, bottled water, clothing, blankets, or other non-food items that can be of use to the typhoon victims.
