In a surprising move, Burger King urged its patrons to also order from McDonald's.

“We never thought we’d be asking you to do this, but restaurants employing thousands of staff really need your support at the moment,” Burger King UK said in a statement Monday.

Burger King UK told its customers that by continuously ordering meals, whether through delivery or drive-thru, they will be able to help the restaurant industry.

“Getting a Whopper is always the best, but ordering a Big Mac is also not such a bad thing,” it said.

The food chain likewise encouraged its patrons to also support KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Subway, and more.

England will be entering its second national lockdown on Thursday.

The four-week shutdown was announced after the number of COVID-19 cases in the UK surpassed one million.
