K-pop boy band Newkidd to hold online fan meeting ‘Amigos’ on Nov. 8

Rookie K-pop boy band Newkidd will hold their exclusive online fan meeting for the first time since debuting in April 2019.

The fan meeting titled “Amigos’ will be held at 2 p.m. (Korea time) on Nov. 8 and due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, it will be through online and will be broadcast in South Korea and other countries.

"Newkidd was preparing for a tour to more than 20 countries (including) South America, but unfortunately it had to be canceled due to COVID-19, and to communicate with fans around the world waiting for Newkidd, we will hold an online concert," said Jflo Entertainment, Newkidd’s agency.

The event was planned to mark the success of Newkidd members Jin Kwon, Yoon Min, Woo Chul and Hwi’s completion of the 14-week Dance Challenge, which has been going on since August.

Through the dance challenge, Newkidd reinterpreted the songs of famous artists including BTS, BLACKPINK and ATEEZ in their own style.

According to their agency, Newkidd will show intense performances and their charms at their online fan meeting.

Manila Bulletin Entertainment was able to interview Newkidd at their agency’s headquarters in Seoul in October last year. Newkidd debuted with the song “Tu Eres,” which translates to “You Are.”

During the interview, Newkidd named BTS as their idols and according to Yoon Min, “we think that BTS is a very good senior singer for us to look up to. We hope we can spread good effects like BTS.” The following month, Newkidd made their comeback with the song “Come,” which had a vampire concept.

Last July, Newkidd joined seven others singers from South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand in releasing the song “Me Me We” as part of the global campaign to offer a message of hope amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Newkidd, Ailee and Ravi of idol group VIXX represented South Korea in the song and donated their talent.
