Typhoon Rolly closes down malls, businesses in Albay


LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) here has issued an advisory on Friday evening, suspending work in private and government establishments, as well as operations of malls and other businesses, due to the impending treat of typhoon Rolly.

PDRRMC Chairperson and Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara said in his advisory that Albay was most likely to be affected by “Rolly”, and it is expected to bring intense rain starting Saturday.

The suspension of mall and other business operations will be implemented on the whole day of Sunday, while early dismissal for work will be implemented Saturday afternoon.

 Bichara also ordered that evacuation of all residents exposed to flood, flashflood, landslide, lahar, storm surge and wind should be completed by daytime on Saturday.

Sailing of all types of sea craft has been banned since Friday, while crossing in swollen and artificial pools of waters has been strictly prohibited.
