99 new COVID-19 cases reported in Davao region


DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health - Davao Center for Health Development (DOH-DCHD) reported on Thursday 99 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region, bringing the total number of recorded cases to 5,075.

The DOH said 76 of the new cases were from Davao City, eight from Davao del Norte, six from Davao Oriental, five from Davao del Sur, three from Davao de Oro, and one from Davao Occidental. The region has a total of 1,133 active cases to date.

The DOH said seven of these were critical, 65 were severe, and 473 were mild cases. The DOH added that 51.9 percent, or 588, of the active cases was asymptomatic.

The DOH also recorded six new deaths, which were all from Davao City, on Thursday. Davao City has recorded a total of 158 COVID-19 deaths, while the region has a total of 187 deaths.

Meanwhile, there were 68 recoveries reported on Thursday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the region to 3,755. Fifty of the recoveries were from Davao City, 12 from Davao del Norte, four from Davao de Oro and two were from Davao del Sur.
