BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) reported 33 new additional cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region, bringing the total number of active cases to 661.
Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin released by the DOH-CHD, 16 new cases were recorded in Butuan City, nine in Agusan del Sur, four in Agusan del Norte, two in Cabadbaran City, and one each in Surigao del Sur, and Surigao City Caraga region now has a total of 2,724 confirmed cases of
COVID-19, with 661 active cases and 116 deaths.
In a virtual press briefing on Thursday, the DOH-CHD also reported that Caraga region already had 1,947 recoveries.
According to the medical status of patients, the DOH-CHD said eight have mild symptoms, while 25 were asymptomatic.
Among the latest cases, 21 were local transmission cases, 10 with no history of travel to an area with known local transmission or exposure to COVID-19, and two with travel history from an area with local transmission.
Among those infected, 19 were female. The youngest was two years old, and the oldest 79 years old.
