Mechanic arrested for raping minor 4 times in Benguet


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A mechanic, who was accused for sexually abusing a 15-year-old female Grade 8 student, and listed as Benguet’s most wanted person, was arrested in Buguias, Benguet.

Benguet Provincial Police Office Col. Elmer Ragay said the Buguias Municipal Police Station, led by Maj. Renny Lizardo, arrested Joseph Bacalan Sison, 29, mechanic, native of Alaminos City, Pangasinan, and a resident of Abatan, Buguias, Benguet. 

Ragay said Sison was arrested on October 22 on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Daniel Mangallay of Abatan, Buguias, Benguet for four counts of rape.

Record showed that the father of the victim filed a rape case against the suspect after he sexually abused the child sometime last July and August in Bekes Buyacaoan, Buguias.

Investigation said the first incident happened in July when Sison invited the victim to his boarding house after she returned the bicycle she borrowed from the suspect.

The second incident happened also in July the alley of an auto shop located in Bekes Buyacaoan, Buguias where the suspect reportedly dragged the victim and sexually abused her.

Also last July, the victim allegedly proceeded to the boarding house of the suspect to borrow his bike, but was instead dragged by the suspect inside his room, and raped her.

The last incident happened at about 8 p.m. on August 8 when the suspect carried the victim to his boarding house and sexually abused her.
