Israel aid agency donates handwashing facility to Makati High School

Emphasizing the value of health and education, MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation has built and donated a handwashing facility to the Makati High School in support of the Department of Education’s “Brigada Eskuwela” during the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic.

“Access to sanitation facilities is essential for effective prevention and control of diseases, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Israel Ambassador Rafael Harpaz said, adding that this will allow students and faculty members to use the facility to wash their hands once the schools reopen.

Harpaz personally led the turnover of the handwashing facility during a ceremony on Tuesday along with MASHAV Officer Gladys Baniqued and officials and representatives of DepEd and the Makati High School.

Just recently, Israel donated printing equipment to DepEd to help its continuous efforts in coping up with the pandemic and to aid in providing distance learning to the Filipino students.

Israel also donated personal protective equipment to the first responders of the Department of National Defense and the Philippine National Police.
