Beijing donates 150 high-flow humidifiers to Manila

The Chinese Embassy in Manila donated Wednesday 150 units of high-flow humidifiers to the Philippine government in its continuous show of support to the country’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amb. Huang Xilian

Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian personally handed over the high-flow humidifiers to Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea during a simple ceremony in Malacanang.

A high-flow humidifier is a kind of breathing aid device that supports severely infected COVID-19 patients.

During the ceremony, Medialdea thanked China for helping the Philippines overcome the pandemic, stating that Manila stands ready to continue close cooperation with Beijing for an early victory over the pandemic and economic recovery.

Last April, China donated ventilator sets to the Philippines at a time when the ventilator supply was very tight in the world market. To date, it has donated a total of 130 ventilators to the Philippines.
