8 more Filipinos abroad added to COVID-19 cases --DFA


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reported eight new confirmed cases, 10 new recoveries, and no new fatality due to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) among Filipinos abroad.

In its latest report, the DFA said the new confirmed cases and new recoveries were recorded in the Americas and Asia and the Pacific.

The total number of overseas Filipinos who have contracted the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic in February this year is now at 11,186. Of the total, 3,127 are undergoing treatment, 7,244 have recovered and 815 died of the disease.

To date, the total number of countries and regions with confirmed cases among Filipinos remains at 81.

Together with its Foreign Service Posts, the DFA expressed its commitment to continue monitoring and assisting Filipinos abroad amidst the ongoing battle against the pandemic.
