Baguio City posts another record-high of 65 COVID-19 cases in a single day

BAGUIO CITY- This city logged 65 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, which was, so far, the most in a single day, on Monday, October 19.

A large majority of the fresh cases, or 59, were ferreted out through contact tracing, three were discovered through expanded testing, while three were symptomatic.

Most of the new cases came from Barangay City Camp Proper with 21, which included four minors.

And of the new cases, 61 were tested at the Baguio City General Hospital and Medical Center, while the rest underwent tests at the Parkway Medical and Diagnostic Center.

Meanwhile, there was another fatality posted on Monday.

She was 77 years old, who had cough, fever, and experienced difficulty in breathing. She sought consultation on October 16, but died on October 19.

There were also 21 patients, who were able to recover from the disease on Monday.

The city now has 589 active cases, 1,094 recoveries, and 21 deaths from the total of 1,704 confirmed cases since the start of pandemic.
