2 NPA amazons, 1 supporter yield to authorities in Isabela


CAMP MELCHOR F. DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela – Two female New People’s Army (NPA) rebels and one of their supporters surrendered to joint police and army operatives in San Mariano, Isabela province, according to the Army’s Fifth Infantry Division (5th ID) Spokesperson Maj. Jekyll Julian D. Dulawan.

Dulawan identified the NPA amazons as “Ka Grace” and “Ka Lita”, who were supply officers of  the Komiteng Rehyon- Cagayan Valley (KR-CV) 

The NPA supporter, who surrendered to the authorities, was identified as “Dalisay”, a member of the Milisyang Bayan (MB), which is an NPA support group. She also surrendered an Armalite rifle.

Dulawan said the 95th Infantry Battalion (95th IB) and the local police worked out the surrender of the two NPA amazons and the former MB member.

In a related development, Dulawan said operatives of the 95th IB recovered an M16 rifle and a carbine M1 rifle in an NPA arm-cache in Barangay Cadsalan, San Mariano, Isabela.
