For the first time, Onic bested rival Aura with a 2-0 sweep in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League-Philippines (MPL-PH) Season 6 on Sunday night.

It was the perennial runner-up Onic's first series victory over the two-time champion Aura (formerly known as Sunsparks) after suffering heartbreaks in the past two seasons.

With the result, Onic (third seed in Group B) and Aura (second seed in Group A) are slated to meet in the first round of the single elimination playoffs, marking the first time since Season 4 that the two teams will not clash in the grand finals.

Gerald "Dlar" Trinchera lived up to his Mr. Flawless moniker in Game 1 as his Yu Zhong went for a perfect 4-0-4 kill-death-assist record after showing up with a balanced offensive and defensive playstyle.

Danerie James "Wise" Del Rosario's Yi Sun-shin provided the much-needed 69k damage to heroes and 17k damage to structures.

Game 2 was pretty much one-sided for Onic as Johnmar "OhMyV33NUS" Villaluna and company took an 18-6 victory in just 15 minutes.

Wise's Lancelot led the annihilation of Aura with a 38k damage en route to a 6-0-4 tally.

Earlier, Bren Esports sustained its momentum heading into the playoffs after it thrashed Blacklist International, 2-0.

The playoff picture is now set after the busy season-ending match day.

Top seeds Execration and Bren will take on fourth seeds Cignal Ultra and Nexplay Solid, respectively. Omega and Blacklist will tangle in the other playoff pairing.

Playoff matches are best-of-five while the grand finals is a best-of-seven collision.
