Baguio City posts another record-day of single day recoveries with 103

BAGUIO CITY – This city posted yet another record-high number of recoveries from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in a single day with 103 on Friday, October 9.

That brought to 829 the number of recoveries out of 1,301 confirmed cases in the city.

But that piece of good news was dampened by a report that one of 22 new cases recorded on Friday was a 106-year-old male from Barangay Irisan, who was symptomatic.

Of the new patients, 11 were contact traced (CT),  four target tested (ET), six symptomatic (S) and one tested as medical requirement.

Six of the new patients were tested at the Parkway Medical and Diagnostic Center in Barangay Bakakeng, while the 16 others were tested at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).

There are now 456 active cases here, and 16 deaths, as of Friday.

Out of the city’s 128 barangays, several areas from 27 barangays were placed on lockdown.

These included Purok 7 of Barangay City Camp Central and Purok 7, Malaya and St.Anthony St. of Barangay Dominican Hill where two families and their close contacts numbering 25 caught the disease.
