Administrative cases vs police officer who harassed Nova Parojinog being readied

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now preparing the administrative charges against a police officer who was accused of sexually assaulting drug suspect Nova Parojinog inside a maximum security detention facility at Camp Crame in Quezon City last month.

PNP spokesman Col. Ysmael Yu said the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) has already initiated the investigation and is set to file the necessary administrative cases against PLt. Col. Jigger Noceda, which might lead to the latter’s dismissal.

“Our Chief PNP General Camilo Cascolan will not let this pass because, according to him, this is an insult to the members of the PNP who work hard every day to improve the image of the PNP,” said Yu.

Noceda was already charged on Oct. 7 for at least two sexual assaults on Parojinog, the first was when he allegedly kissed her and the second when he touched her private parts. Both occurred inside Noceda’s office.

Noceda has already been sacked as the head of the PNP Custodial Center.

Although placed under restrictive custody, Noceda is still allowed to go home and to go to his barracks at Camp Crame.

Yu, however, said that Noceda’s movements are strictly monitored. He added that they are just waiting for the result of the criminal charges against Noceda in connection with the alleged sexual harassment on Parojinog.

Parojinog is a member of the influential political clan in Ozamiz City. Her parents died during a raid in their house.

She and her brother were charged with drug cases. Her uncle and her aunt, who were also charged in the same case, allegedly died of illness while under government custody.
