Davao region records 33 new COVID-19 cases, 6 deaths


DAVAO CITY - The DOH Davao Center for Health Development has recorded 33 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and six deaths in the region on Wednesday, October 7.

Based on the COVID-19 Regional Case Bulletin, the new cases include 16 from Davao City, 12 from Davao del Sur, and five from Davao Oriental.

The region has recorded a total of 3,368 COVID-19 cases with 582 active cases.

Four of the fatalities are from Davao City and two are from Davao del Sur. The DOH has yet to release the profiles of the patients.

The youngest COVID-19 patient recorded on Tuesday, October 6 was a nine-month-old girl from Barangay 23-C here. The baby had the onset of symptoms last October 4. Meanwhile, the oldest case was an 84-year-old woman from Barangay 5-A here.

The two deaths recorded last Tuesday include a 61-year-old man in Barangay 21-C in Davao City who had the onset of symptoms last October 1 and was admitted on October 5. The other fatality was a 51-year-old woman from Matina Aplaya who was admitted last September 28.

The region has reported 107 deaths due to COVID-19. A total of 89 deaths were recorded in Davao City, eight in Davao Del Sur, five in Davao del Norte, two each in Davao de Oro and Davao Occidental, and one in Davao Oriental.

The DOH also recorded 65 recoveries on Wednesday bringing to 2,679 the total number of reported recoveries.

“Among these, 50 are from Davao City, nine are from Davao del Norte, three are from Davao Oriental, two are from Davao del Sur, and one from Davao de Oro,” it said.
