ANGONO, Rizal -- Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Alfonso Cusi donated 20,000 face shields to the local government here which will be distributed to residents as part of the health protocols to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Cusi, the Cabinet secretary tasked to help the province of Rizal in the fight against COVID-19, said the 20,000 face shields will encourage residents to abide by the protocols set by the Inter Agency Task Force For the Management of the Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon said the wearing of face masks and face shields is mandatory.
The donated face shields were turned over to the municipal government through the Rizal Provincial Government.
Municipal Administrator Alan Maniaol and Municipal Social Welfare Officer Luisita Vestra represented Mayor Calderon in the turnover ceremony held on Tuesday, October 6.
Calderon is still under quarantine after she contracted COVID-19 in September.
