The agency said the operation of PRFS has been suspended due to the volume of water hyacinths clogging the Pasig River.

"akapal na water hyacinths sa kahabayaan ng Ilog Pasig nagiging problema para makapagbiyahe maayos ang ating mga bangka (The volume of water hyacinths on the stretch of Pasig River causes problem to our ferries)," the agency said in a statement.

To address this problem, the MMDA said its personnel are currently conducting clean-up activities to reduce the volume of water hyacinths on the river.

"Despite our relentless clean-up activities, they were not enough due to the continuous multiplication of water hyacinths during the rainy season," MMDA said.

Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, MMDA spokesperson, said their personnel will harvest the water hyacinths at the Napindahan Flood Gate tomorrow morning (October 7).

The agency said they will also use arm backhoe to harvest the water hyacinths.
