ANTIPOLO CITY– Two Rizal provincial security personnel were arrested over the weekend for selling fake coronavirus disease (COVID-19) test results.

Ynares sought the help of the police after learning that the suspects were demanding P1,700 and more from individuals for coronavirus test results that were discovered to be fake.

Police seized P3,400 in marked money, several fake COVID-19 test results and a motorcycle from the suspects.

Ignacio and Juanillo have been relieved of their duties and are facing falsification and robbery (extortion) charges.

On its Facebook page, the provincial government said the rapid and swab tests are free but online booking appointment is encouraged to prevent long lines in the Mega Testing Center located at the back of the provincial capitol. The testing center is open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
