Pasig City schedules cemetery visits

As the observance of All Saints and All Souls’ Day nears, the Pasig City government will implement a barangay coding scheme on days when residents will be allowed to visit cemeteries.

In its official Facebook page, the local government said public and private cemeteries in the city will be open to visitors from October 26 to November 7 to give families a chance to visit their departed loved ones.

All burial grounds nationwide will be closed to the public from October 29 to November 4 but burial and cremation services will continue.

Residents of Barangays Manggahan, Kalawaan, Palatiw, Bambang, Kapasigan, Sagad, Bagong Ilog, Sto. Tomas, Sumilang, and Malinao can visit cemeteries on October 26 and November 5.

Residents of Barangays Pinagbuhatan, Santolan, San Miguel, Pineda, Dela Paz, San Nicolas, Bagong Katipunan, Sta. Rosa, San Jose, and Sta. Cruz are scheduled on October 27 and November 6.

Residents of Barangays Rosario, Maybunga, Caniogan, Buting, Sta. Lucia, Kapitolyo, Oranbo, Ugong, San Antonio, and San Joaquin can visit on October 28 and November 7.

The local government said only Pasig residents are allowed to enter the cemeteries from October 26 to 28 and November 5 to 7.

“Papayagang makapasok ang mga hindi taga Pasig sa mga araw na hindi nakatalaga para sa mga Pasigueño, bago o matapos ang October 26-November 7 (Non-residents of Pasig will be allowed to enter on days not scheduled for Pasig residents before or after October 26 and November 7),” the city government said.

Residents are requested to bring proof of residency -- ID or a barangay certificate - to enter the cemeteries. Visitors must also wear face masks and face shields.

“Walang age restrictions ang pagbisita sa mga nasabing lugar (There are no age restrictions in visiting these places),” the local government said.
