Add these to your list of things to watch
This month, Netflix will be releasing three highly anticipated dramas from Korea that everyone would definitely fall in love with.
Starting it right
First one to add to your list is Start-Up, starring Bae Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk. Start-Up’s story revolves around young people, passionately pursuing their dreams in the world of startup companies. While You Were Sleeping and Vagabond femme fatale Bae Suzy takes on the role of of Seo Dal-mi, a woman who aspires to be the future Steve Jobs of Korea. Nam Joo-Hyuk whom we’ve seen in Weightlifting Fairy, The School Nurse Files, and Moon Lovers plays the role of Nam Do-San, a math genius who founded Samsan Tech.
Start-Up’s first episode will be available for streaming on Oct. 17, at 10 p.m. local time, with weekly episodes every Saturday and Sunday same time as it airs in Korea through tvN.
When you know the notes
Next we have Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol. This one is a heart flutterer, about a lovable pianist named Gu Ra-ra whose life hits rock bottom due to family financial problems. She goes to a small private piano academy in a village in the countryside where she meets a mysterious gruff guy named Sunwoo Jun. The drama stars Go Ara (Miss Hammurabi and Reply 1994) and Lee Lee Jae Wook, who recently won Best New Actor in the 2019 MBC Drama Awards for his role in Extraordinary You.
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol will be available for streaming on Oct. 7, at 10 p.m. local time, with episodes released every Wednesday and Thursday, same time as it airs on KBS2 in Korea.
Publicly private
The third drama to watch out for this October is Private Lives, starring Ko Kyung Pyo and Seohyun. This mystery drama looks into the private lives of public figures in a society where there is little to no privacy. Seohyun, from the K-Pop girl group Girls Generation, takes on the role of Cha Joo Eun, a con artist who seeks to disclose the private lives of different personalities. Ko Kyung Pyo (Strongest Deliveryman) plays the role of Lee Jeonghwan, a mysterious manager with a secret identity. This is also Ko Kyung Pyo’s first drama after his military service.
Private Lives will be available on Netflix beginning Oct. 7, 10 p.m. local time, with episodes released every Wednesday and Thursday on JTBC in Korea.
