The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) suspended on Wednesday the supposed reopening of the Pampanga to Cubao route for provincial buses.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the LTFRB said this was to give way for "additional consultations" with the concerned local government units (LGUs) and bus operators that will service the said route.

Meanwhile, the LTFRB Region 3 said in a Facebook post that this was also to adjust and lay down health protocols to be implemented by the provincial inter-agency task force of Pampanga against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The San Fernando City, Pampanga to Araneta Center Cubao via Mindanao Ave. – Congressional Ave. Ext. – Katipunan in Quezon City route was among the 12 modified routes earlier approved by the LTFRB to be opened for provincial buses in hopes of ferrying more workers in nearby provinces to Metro Manila as the economy gradually reopens.

Other modified routes allowed to open by the LTFRB beginning September 30 were the following:

• Batangas City, Batangas - Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX)

• Lemery, Batangas - PITX

• Lipa City, Batangas - PITX

• Nasugbu, Batangas - PITX

• Indang, Cavite - PITX

• Mendez, Cavite - PITX

• Tagaytay City, Cavite - PITX

• Ternate, Cavite - PITX

• Calamba City, Laguna - PITX

• Siniloan, Laguna - PITX

• Sta. Cruz, Laguna - PITX

Passengers were reminded to bring travel pass issued by the PNP from their place of origin, a valid identification card, and a written consent that they agree to undergo COVID-19 testing or quarantine at the terminal or end-point destination in case the LGU requires.
