Mapandan municipal hall, RHU locked down due to COVID-19


PANGASINAN – Mapandan Mayor Anthony Penuliar said the municipal hall and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) were placed on lockdown after three frontliners tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement Monday evening, Penuliar said “the Mapandan Municipal Office will be temporarily closed for the decontamination of the entire building”.

Penuliar said all the three COVID-19 were asymptomatic and were all male, between 30 and 37 years old. They were from Barangays Poblacion, Golden and Aserda. They will be placed in the isolation facility of Mapandan.

Penuliar also said the Rural Health Unit (RHU) will also be closed for disinfection, and until the results of contact tracing on the patients are known.

The mayor likewise said the municipal will be temporarily suspending the issuance of travel authority.

 “We will strictly enforce precautionary measures, such as wearing of face masks and face shields, hand washing, alcohol use and physical distancing,“ Penuliar added.
