Police arrest 4,354 suspects, seize P151-M worth of shabu in 26-day saturation drive

Police seized some P151 million worth of shabu and marijuana  in the past 26 days of anti-illegal drugs operations across the country, a top police official said on Monday.

Gen. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said the operation also led to the arrest of 4,354 illegal drug personalities and confiscation of some 22 kilos of shabu.

The same operations, according to Cascolan, led to the seizure of 13.7 kilos of marijuana.

The marijuana was confiscated during the operation in Kalinga province wherein some 19,200 full-grown marijuana were uprooted from a 1,600-square meter plantation.

He said the marijuana plants were destroyed on site.

“What is more important is that these illegal drugs could have led to larger problems for the community had we not taken it off the streets,” said Cascolan.
