Stocks end week lower

The local stock market ended the week slightly lower yesterday as investors continue to shy away.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) shed 7.14 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 5,838.66 with sectoral indices evenly mixed.

Volume fell to 1.41 billion shares worth ₱3.66 billion as gainers beat losers 110 to 86 with 44 unchanged.

“The PSEi closed little changed once more to end the week as investors digested the weaker jobs data, a second wave of COVID-19 in Europe and whether there would be any fiscal stimulus for regional markets,” said Regina Capital Development Corporation Managing Director Luis Limlingan.
