Peralta was responding to a query of Senator Francis Tolentino who asked whether the SC is looking into the feasibility of holding online Bar exams similar to what is done in several states in the United States.

“There is now a move because we are not the only ones confronting this crisis, moves in other jurisdictions, in Michigan, District of Columbia, Louisiana, and also New York to have online Bar examinations,” Tolentino said.

Peralta responded saying: “We are thinking of that…We are considering that next year.”

The SC postponed its 2020 Bar exams due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country, as well as restrictions imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

The Chief Magistrate, likewise, assured senators that the Bar examinations next year would be conducted simultaneously in two sites in Visayas and Mindanao.
