TESDA said that outbound OFWs can file their application for assessment and certification online.

TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña said the assessment and certification will be free of charge as he encouraged all OFWs to avail of the service.

"They can visit the www.tesda.gov.ph or download the TESDA App on Google Play or Apple Stores. They will find the 'TESDA Abot Lahat ang OFWs' button from there and just click it and send their application. Through this activity, we will be able to profile their skills as basis for the appropriate assessment to be provided," he said.

Launched June this year, "TESDA Abot Lahat ang OFWs" is the agency's flagship program focused on serving returning OFWs and their dependents through scholarship and retooling after they register to the TESDA App.

TESDA added this online feature for skills assessment to make it also accessible for outbound OFWs who need skills assessment as a requirement before they can be deployed abroad.

Lapeña further demonstrated that upon clicking the "TESDA Abot Lahat ang OFWs" button, OFW applicants will be asked what kind of qualification they need to be assessed for.

"If they are already registered, TESDA will facilitate and process their application and we will inform them of the location and schedule of their assessment," he added.

The assessment will be available for qualifications which include Domestic Worker NC II, Ship’s Catering Services NC I and NC III, Caregiving NC II, and other usual courses for OFWs.
