Pasay gov’t announces schedule for cemetery visits before closure from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4

The Pasay City government on Wednesday (Sept. 23) issued a scheme allowing 150 persons inside the city’s two public cemeteries who will visit and pay respect to their departed family members starting October 1.

City Administrator Atty. Dennis Acorda, as ordered by Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, issued a memorandum to cemeteries to allow entry of visitors of at least 150 persons per day and 50 to columbarium during their scheduled date of visit.

The city has two public cemeteries – Pasay City Public Cemetery located along Sgt. Mariano St. and Cementina Public Cemetery along Arnaiz Avenue – and columbarium at the Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish Church.

Acorda said that those who are allowed to visit on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are from Barangays 1 to 40, 68 to 92, 145 to 157, 183, and 187 to 201.

Scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday are barangays located in District II: 41 to 67; 93 to 144; 158 to 182; and 184.

The city administrator also reminded visitors to strictly observe health protocols being implemented by the city government including wearing of face masks, face shields, and observing physical distancing.

Acorda said that Rubiano also ordered the deployment of police and barangay marshals and the city Public Order and Safety Unit to cemeteries and columbarium to ensure that preventive measures are followed to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

He said that visits to cemeteries and columbarium will be up to Oct. 28 since all facilities will be closed from October 29 to November 4.
