Rose Policarpio Dacanay, 31, of Pateros, Metro Manila, was overwhelmed with mixed emotions on her arrival. She thanked Ambassador Adnan Alonto and the whole embassy staff in Saudi Arabia for their help.

She also expressed thanks to President Duterte because she was allowed to stay at the Philippine embassy until she was able to fly home following her acquittal in the murder case.

"This is a big surprise to my family here in Manila because they don't know I am going home,'' Rose added.

Dacanay was implicated in the murder of her employer in June, 2013. She claimed she fled the scene of the crime because the perpetrators attempted to rape her.

Based on the report, Rose went to the police to inform them about the incident but was arrested and jailed instead.
