No fatality, no new COVID-19 case in Davao region


DAVAO CITY -  For the first time in three months, Davao region did not recorded any coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case on Monday, September 21.

This was disclosed by the Department of Health (DOH) here, which said that the last time Davao region did not record a new COVID-19 case was last June 22.

No death was also reported on Monday.

Based on the Regional Situation Update on COVID-19 in Davao Region, as of September 21, the DOH Davao Center for Health Development (DCHD) said out of 179 persons tested, only five have tested positive for COVID-19 but none of them were from Davao region.

The region has so far recorded a total of 2,666 cases of COVID-19 with 397 active cases.

The region added that there were 11 recoveries reported on Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,193.

Among the new recoveries, nine were from Davao City and two were from Davao del Norte.

The youngest of those who recovered was a 13-year-old girl from Buhangin District in Davao City. The girl was admitted on September 3.

Meanwhile, the oldest patient who recovered was a 51-year-old woman from Gov. Vicente Duterte in Agdao District here. The patient had the onset of symptoms on August 31 and was admitted last September 5.

Davao region has a total of 76 reported deaths due to COVID-19.
