Of Manila's 12,757 confirmed virus cases, 11,513 have recovered while 451 have died.

In a Facebook post, Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso credited the decline in the COVID-19 cases in the city to the collective efforts of the city government, the health and medical sector, and the residents.

"Ito po ay resulta ng pagtutulungan ng Pamahaalang Lungsod, ng ating health and medical sector at ng mga Batang Maynila (This is the result of the cooperation between the city government, our health and medical sector, and Manileños)," he said.

"Makakaasa po kayong mananatili niyong kaagapay ang Pamahaalang Lungsod sa pagtugon sa epekto ng pandemyang ito, sa kalusugan man o sa pang-ekonomikong aspeto ng ating pamumuhay (Rest assured that the city government will always be here to help you cope with the effects of the pandemic, be it in terms of health or economic)," he added.

Domagoso, however warned the public to remain vigilant and continue to observe health and safety guidelines to prevent a resurgence in COVID-19 cases in the city.

Meanwhile, the Manila mayor on Monday bared that the city government has already received half of the 2,000 additional remdesivir vials they purchased to treat COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms.

Health professionals claim that the drug has a positive effect on COVID-19 patients.

In August, Domagoso announced that they bought 2,000 vials of the said medication after studies showed that it shortened the COVID-19 patient's infection from 15 to 11 days.

Overall, the Manila city government has bought 4,000 remdesivir vials.
