“We are more stringent in our campaign on internal cleansing. Hard-headed personnel do not deserve to stay in the PNP,” emphasized Police Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO-6).

PRO-6 Spokesperson Police Lt. Joem Malong told The Manila Bulletin Friday, September 18, that the 29 police officers were dismissed for grave offenses including conduct unbecoming, dishonesty and grave neglect of duty, especially those who went absent without leave (AWOL).

This was after PRO-6 released the findings on the 160 administrative cases it handled for alleged offenses of police officers in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces, as well as in the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

There were also 75 who were suspended, nine were reprimanded, three were demoted from their present ranks, and two had salary forfeitures.

On the other hand, 42 were exonerated from the various charges they faced.

“The speedy resolution of the administrative cases is part of our intensified internal cleansing,” reiterated Pamuspusan.

Just this week, PRO-6 also started the filing of administrative charges against six lady police officers for drinking in public.
