Body of PH seaman arrives from Japan


The remains of Joel Canete Linao, a Filipino crew member of Panama-registered Gulf Livestock 1 that capsized early this month as a typhoon struck Japan, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 Thursday onboard a Philippine Airlines flight from Narita, Japan.

The remains of the Barangay Cannery, Polomolok, South Cotabato native in an
enclosed casket arrived at around 4:20 p.m.

Gulf Livestock was carrying cattles and had 43 crew members, including 39 Filipino nationals, when it sunk.

Three Filipino crewmen were later found, one dead and two survivors.

The two survivors Jaynel Rosales and Eduardo Sareno are set to arrive in the country Saturday.
