On Sept. 9, the Naval Education and Training Command released photos of the 669th Navy recruits including Park Bogum. The photo showed him wearing his uniform and face mask. He is seen standing alongside fellow soldiers belonging to the 4th platoon of the 2nd company.

The basic military training will run until Oct. 8, the day when the completion ceremony of recruits will be held. Park Bogum will serve for 20 months and he will be discharged in April 2022. All able-bodied South Korean men are required by law to start their military service by age 28.

It was announced in June that Park Bogum passed the exam and interview for the Navy’s military band and honor guard. For his evaluation, he went to the Navy headquarters in Gyeryong, Chungcheong-do where his skills in piano and singing were tested.

He released the song “All My Love” on Aug. 10 as a gift to his fans before his military enlistment. The date refers to his debut date in 2011 when his first movie “Blind” premiered.  Park Bogum’s popularity soared when he starred in the K-drama “Reply 1988” from November 2015 to January 2016. His other dramas include “Love in the Moonlight” and “Encounter.”
