LJ and Jimmy Alapag lose unborn child

"Not easy news for us to find out."
This is what retired local basketball player Jimmy Alapag said about his wife LJ's recent miscarriage.
It was only last month when they shared the news they're expecting a new addition to their family.
The couple announced the unfortunate news to the public via social media.
According to them, they were supposed to listen to the heartbeat of their baby in an appointment with their doctor last week but they couldn't find one.
"The doctor was saying it could be because it's too early and it could also be because of the myoma,” LJ recalled, explaining how her doctors informed her about a growth in her uterus during their first appointment.
"Although she said not naman alarming cause it was growing the other way, not towards the baby. But then, during the appointment last week, the other OB that checked me was saying it could be the reason why I wasn't so clear."
They went back for another appointment and still, there was nothing.
It was then their doctor told them there's a possibility LJ could have miscarried.
LJ cited the cause as "thyroid antibodies."
She said, "I can't really explain what exactly that is but I know if you try to get pregnant, it's not good to have that in your body."
"Anyway, she injected progesterone and put me on more medication and she said, 'We'll look, we'll try again in the next appointment.' So when we went to the next appointment, unfortunately, we found out na wala na talaga."
“They called it a miscarriage cause I didn't bleed at first but the pregnancy stopped, the baby stopped,” she added.
Despite the sad news, the couple noted they still have absolute faith in God's plan.
