K-pop stars get platinum certifications for albums, songs


South Korea’s Gaon Music Chart has released new platinum certifications for albums, and song downloads and streaming.

EXO-SC’s Sehun and Chanyeol’s “1 Billion Views” album was awarded double platinum certification for selling at least 500,000 copies. The album was released on July 13 and topped Gaon’s monthly album chart for July with 497,325 copies sold.

BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” Special Edition was certified platinum for selling at least 250,000. As of August, the album has sold 302,752 copies based on the Gaon album chart.

ATEEZ’s “Zero: Fever Part 1” also received platinum certification after it sold 347,207 copies as of August. TXT’s “Dream Chapter: Magic” was also certified platinum.

Under the download category, Gaon Music Chart has certified boy band BTOB’s “Only One for Me” and veteran singer Im Chang Jung’s ““There Has Never Been A Day I Haven’t Loved You“ as platinum for notching at least 2.5 million song downloads.

In the streaming category, Jeon Sang-keun’s “I Still Love You A Lot” got platinum certification for reaching 100 million streams.

Last month, Gaon certified the following albums: Seventeen’s “Heng:garae,” million; NCT 127’s “Neo Zone: The Final Round,” IZ*ONE’s “Oneiric Diary,” and TWICE’s “More & More,” double platinum; and Stray Kids’ “Go Live,” platinum.
