Bacolod records new highest single-day COVID-19 cases with 237


BACOLOD CITY - The city of Bacolod has recorded a new highest single day coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases at 237 on Saturday, September 5, bringing the total to 1,729.

On that day, one death was also reported, bringing the total to 27 deaths.

The City Health Office (CHO) reported 84 recoveries on the same day, with a total of 679 recoveries.

Of the total number of cases, 1,492 cases were from local transmission and 231 were locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) per CHO data.

There were still 1,017 active cases, including 989 local cases and 28 LSIs and OFWs.

Of these active cases, 58 were admitted to various hospitals, 138 were placed on home quarantine, 515 were brought to different quarantine facilities, and 306 were still pending for verification. 

The city reinstituted its home quarantine pass (HQP) system to regulate the movement of people amid the rising COVID cases here.

Border control check-up points were also established starting Sunday to limit the entry of non-residents to the city to contain the spread of the virus.
