ONE Championship's number one atomweight contender Denice Zamboanga is ready to face champion Angela Lee.

Zamboanga has actually been ready for quite some time now, but the coronavirus pandemic has forced their title clash to be postponed on a later date.

After a stoppage win against Watsapinya "Dream Girl" Kaewkhong in ONE: A New Breed last week, the undefeated Zamboanga has made up her mind anew and said she's prepared to face Lee next.

"Once the world goes back to normal, I think I’m ready to face Angela," said the 23-year-old Zamboanga, who holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 8-0.

Zamboanga was left with no choice but to accept other bouts due to COVID-19 restrictions especially in Asia. Should the same scenario comes up, "The Menace" would still accept what's given.

"She’s (Lee) my idol. But if the situation stays like this for some time, and if ONE Championship is giving me the chance to fight again, then I’ll take another fight."

Before defeating Kaewhkong, Zamboanga beat Japanese foe Mei Yamaguchi last February before ONE Championship decided to freeze its events due to the pandemic.

After the match, no less than ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong gave Zamboanga the green light to take on the 24-year-old Lee.

Zamboanga, together with her brother Drex, who also won his debut fight in ONE, is currently holed up in Bangkok, Thailand.
