13 years since first revealing her “romantic encounter” with a famous male personality, BB Gandanghari is now offering some details.
No, she didn’t name names. Or did she?
In her latest YouTube livestream video she titled "I Left My Heart in San Francisco: Who is David and Jonathan?" BB revealed the encounter happened in 2001.
To protect the identity of the person in question, BB simply named him “Jonathan” to her “David.”
She explained, “Hayaan natin itong tawagin na David and Jonathan para maiwasan yung mga salitang nakakasakit, mga salitang mapanghusga, so huwag muna, makinig muna kayo.”
However, during her narration, BB accidentally mentioned the names Rustom and “Piolo.”
It wasn’t clear who Piolo is but Rustom, of course, is BB's old self.
“Si Rustom, magaling makisama. At yun din ang masasabi ko, si Jonathan, magaling makisama. May click in other words. It clicked, parang isang barkada na nag-gel. Nag-gel si Rustom sa grupo. Nag-umpisa bilang buddies, enjoying each other’s company,” she recalled.
It all started, she said, with a few drinks.
“They drank it. They just danced the whole night. It was a night to remember. Rustom had so much fun kaya ayokong maging defensive sa ikinukuwento, kasi Rustom, after a long time, was genuinely happy that night. Rustom, after a long time, genuinely felt cared for… hindi lang dahil kay Piolo, pero lahat ng kasama niya at that time was really very… that made the night more memorable.”
When the club eventually closed for the night, BB said she and the rest of the group decided to go to a friend’s house.
“Nagpunta sila dun sa bahay and they drank more, kuwentuhan, kuwentuhan, more bonding. And niyaya ni Jonathan si David na lumabas para maglakad. It’s three in the morning.
“Lumabas, naglakad silang dalawa, nag-uusap, nagkikilanlan and, again, kung ang pagbabatayan, e kung ano ang nararamdaman ni Rustom noon, nabaitan siya kay Jonathan.
“Nakita niya ang sarili niya kay Jonathan when he was 23, when he was starting .
“Pero nakita din niya kay Jonathan yung fearlessness, may fearlessness siyang nakita na, actually, amazed.
“Amazedmay not be the right word for that pero, honestly, parang ang feeling ni Rustom, ‘I wish I have his fearlessness.’ In a matter of one day, lumalalim yung connection, nagba-bonding nang sobra thru pakikipag-usap. Yung nagkukuwentuhan lang.”
She continued: “By the time na pumasok sila ng bahay, pretty much si Rustom, of course, nakainom na siya. Pero charmed, to say the very least, I think he found the guy, parang, genuine. So, kuwentuhan, kuwentuhan… Nagtanong si Rustom, ‘Saan ang restroom?’ Sa taas daw. So, umakyat, pasok sa restroom, weewee.
The kiss
When she finished, she saw Jonathan waiting right outside the bathroom.
“…And then we kissed,” she said. “It was probably the most felt kiss. It was deep, it was passionate, but it was also more than that. May feeling, eh.”
“But, it ended there when they realized may mga tao sa baba. They stopped, and then bumaba na si Rustom. So, habang lumalalim ang gabi, palalim din nang palalim ang kumunoy na pinapasok ni Rustom dahil, kinabukasan, meron siyang kikitain na babae, remember?”
BB was referring to a religious gathering where she, as Rustom, was to meet a woman after Rustom’s failed marriage with Carmina Villaroel.
Morning stroll
Right after, BB said Jonathan asked David if he could visit him sometime.
David didn’t think twice.
“He was charming, fearless, siyempre bata, go, go, go. Rustom said, ‘Yes, sige, maligo lang tayo, tapos magkita uli tayo sa lobby, ikot-ikot lang.’”
“Nagkita sa park, they started strolling and talking and getting to know each other. But this time, parang nagiging maliwanag yung, ‘Uy, I like you, you like me.’ You know what I mean? Parang nagiging maliwanag ‘yon.”
“Kay Rustom, at this moment, this was… hindi sa nagmamalinis, pero ito talaga yung unang pagkakataon na naramdaman ni Rustom na merong may gusto sa kanya na same sex. Dito niya naramdaman yung kilig towards same sex. Na parang the feeling is so similar. They were strolling, strolling na hindi nila namalayan na two hours has passed.
“And then, eto na, tawag na, hanap na. Nagkakagulo na pala sa hotel kasi hindi alam kung nasaan si ano. Isang oras na siyang hinanap. Ang sabi ni Jonathan, ‘Sige, lunch lang ito. Puwede ba kitang puntahan after ng lunch?’
“Sabi ni Rustom… ni David, ‘Sige, tawagan mo na lang yung hotel room kasi nandoon lang naman ako. Matutulog na ako.’ Sabi niya , ‘Sige, tatawagan kita.’”
Private moment
That same day, David and Jonathan engaged in some “male bonding,” according to BB.
“Nagkuwentuhan pa nang nagkuwentuhan. Nagkakilanlan, nagtatawanan, nagbibiruan. It was really more of parang male bonding. Hindi naman sila nagpi-flirt, pero alam mong between them, there was an attraction.”
Then they got more intimate.
“While nag-iinuman sila at nag-uusap, parang biglang… Alam niyo naman ang dalawang tao na nag-e-enjoy sa isa’t isa, di ba?
“All of sudden, they realized na, 'Wow, we are suddenly alone.' Wala pa kasi akong pagkakataon na maging alone, honestly, that’s the truth.”
“I think David saw love in Jonathan’s eyes. If not attraction, but he saw something in Jonathan. And then they kissed again and again and again. They embraced, they kissed, but basically that. No touching, nothing, just really embracing and kissing.”
Before they said goodbye to each other, they embraced one more time.
“Parang, all of sudden, may relationship. They embraced, they kissed quickly, and then naghiwalay. Pero alam mong deep in their head, magkikita sila uli. ‘I’ll see you later,’ yun ang dating. Walang dramatic… Ang point is, we’ll just see each other later. Pero kay Rustom, nag-uumpisa pa lamang ang turmoil.”
BB promised to continue narrating the story of David and Jonathan in her next vlog.
Many are, however, already criticizing her for the same, accusing the former actor of using the past, in the process besmirching other personalities, to earn notice.
