Bautista aired the appeal after a news website reported a “mass exodus” of her congressional staff even as she and her personnel have been pre-occupied distributing financial assistance to thousands of jeepney drivers who have been economically displaced as a result of the COVID 19 crisis.

Bautista feared that the posting of the false news might have triggered demoralization among her employees thus, slowing down the work the partylist organization has been doing to assist the public transport sector.

“I categorically state that the allegations of a mass exodus in my office is absolutely false,” she said.

She noted that speculations about the resignation of her staff may have been triggered by a social media post  that she is in need of lawyers.

The post followed reports that the chief of staff and congressional staff of Deputy Speaker and Davao City Rep. Paulo Duterte resigned en masse.

“They may have put two and two together then came out with an answer that turned out to be fatally wrong arithmetic.  The story about Deputy Speaker Duterte may be accurate but my only personnel requirement is for lawyers who will be assigned in my Davao City office,” she said.

“There have been no resignations in my office and there are no staffers planning to resign. In fact, I am looking for additional staff for my office,” she said.
