Outgoing PNP chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa said 50 vehicles will be distributed to the deputy directors and executive officers of major offices and units at Camp Crame for work-related transportation.

“I think this is the first time that deputy directors and executive officers who are generals will have their own PNP issued vehicles,” said Gamboa.

The blessing of the vehicles was done a day before Gamboa bows out of service for reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Maj. Gen. Marni Marcos, the chairman of the Bids and Awards Committee, said the fund used to purchase  the new vehicles was sourced from the Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) of the PNP for 2020.

He  said the new mobility assets will be distributed to the Command Group, Directorial Staff, National Support Units, Office of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government, PNP Peace Process and Development Center, Philippine National Police Academy, and Philippine National Police Training Institute to boost their administrative capabilities.

“These latest additional assets are part of the continuing effort of the PNP leadership and the national government to further enhance the modernization program of the PNP,” said Gamboa.
