The EO adjusts the previous curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

“The curfew hours for all persons in the City of Manila shall be from ten o’clock in the evening (10 p.m.) to five o’clock in the morning (5 a.m.) during the duration of the community quarantine imposed by the national government,” the EO read.

The new curfew hours, according to the mayor, aims to stimulate economic activity in the city.

Domagoso said the new curfew hours will give businesses in Manila more time to operate.

“Starting September 1, iaakyat po natin ang curfew mula 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Logic behind it ay para mas madagdagan ang oras ng paghahanapbuhay, pagtra-trabaho at pagnenegosyo (Starting September 1, the curfew hours will be at 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Logic behind it is to increase the time for livelihoods, works, and businesses),” the mayor said.

The mayor said the city wants to help workers and businessmen to cope with the economic impact of the pandemic.
