Starting September 1, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city will deploy deputized apprehending officers including barangay officials to help police apprehend violators.

Under the ordinance, violators will be fined the amount of P1,000 for the first offense, P2,000 for the second offense or detention for 15 days or both depending on the decision of the court.   Violators caught for the third time will be fined the amount of P5,000 or face one month imprisonment or both depending on the decision of the court.

Apprehending officers will issue citation tickets to violators who will pay directly to the Treasurer’s Office within 24-hours. Violators will be detained if they fail to pay the fine.

Rubiano called on residents not to ignore the City Ordinance to avoid the spread of the coronavirus (COVI-19) in the city.

As of August 29, Pasay City has 3,606 confirmed cases, 540 active and 136 deaths.
