A non-government organization (NGO) has recently donated 20 sacks of rice to the Municipality of Pateros to help its residents cope amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The donation was handed over by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson, Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago, Malasakit Movement founder to Pateros Mayor Miguel "Ike" Ponce. Aside from rice, the NGO also gave the municipality two boxes of alcohol.
Pialago thanked donors of the Malasakit Movement for their support.
"I am very thankful to all the supporters of the Malasakit Movement. Please continue to support us. With your help, we can help more of our poor kababayans, especially now during these trying times," she said.
"We can win in this battle together. Let's help each other during this pandemic."
Earlier, MMDA Chairman Danilo "Danny" Lim, who was tasked to oversee Pateros' COVID-19 response, gave municipality packs of relief good.
