Get to know Enola Holmes, Sherlock’s teen sister, in this new Netflix film

Move over, Nancy Drew. We have our new favorite super sleuth, and Millie Bobby Brown gets to play the role.

Netflix darling Millie Bobby Brown goes on a dramatic evolution from the intrepid yet unpredictable Eleven in Stranger Things to a teenager-turned-super-sleuth-in-Victorian-fashion in the new detective spin-off film Enola Holmes.

Based on a novel series by Nancy Springer with the same name, thriving on the fictional world built by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887, the mystery-adventure film puts the world’s greatest detective to the test by facing his fiercest competition yet.

Read the official synopsis here:
“England, 1884–a world on the brink of change. In the morning of her 16th birthday, Enola Holmes wakes to find that her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) has disappeared, leaving behind an odd assortment of gifts but no apparent clue as to where she’s gone or why Enola suddenly finds herself under the care of her brothers Sherlock (Henry Cavill) and Mycroft (Sam Claflin), both set on sending her away to a finishing school for ‘proper’ young ladies. Refusing to follow their wishes, Enola escapes to search for her mother in London. But when her journey finds her entangled in a mystery surrounding a young runaway Lord (Louis Partridge), Enola becomes a super-sleuth in her own right, outwitting her famous brother as she unravels a conspiracy that threatens to set back the course of history.”

The film is directed by Primetime Emmy Award-winner Harry Bradbeer. If his name doesn’t ring a bell, his Amazon series Fleabag lends credence to his genius behind making tragicomedy and mystery films.

Not to get you too excited as we still have a month before its release on Sept. 23, but the first trailer is already out on Youtube. Check it out here:
