P3.4-M shabu seized from 3 drug suspects in Quiapo


Three drug suspects were arrested by anti-narcotics agents, who also seized P3.4 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Quiapo, Manila on August 25.

Elements of the local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as Abolkahair Mala Mapandi, Jamilah Mipanga Mapandi and Cathy Fatima Wali Ampatoa.

In a report to PDEA Director-General Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA spokesperson Derrick Carreon said the suspects were apprehended at around 2:20 p.m. at Gonzalo Puyat St. where 500 grams of shabu were confiscated.

Aside from the illegal drugs, the anti-narcotics authorities also seized a P1,000 bill with serial no. JT266053 used as buy-bust money, one brown wallet, identification cards and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.

Carreon noted that the suspects are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26 paragraph B and Section 11 Art. II of RA 9165.

The operation was carried out by PDEA and Police Community Precinct Station 3 after intense surveillance.
