DSWD gives LGUs one more week to validate recipients of SAP 2


The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has extended for a week the deadline for the local government units (LGUs) to complete the uploading of over 97,000 Social Amelioration Card (SAC) forms of beneficiaries for the second tranche distribution of emergency cash subsidies, and the validation of more than 154,000 beneficiaries.

DSWD Undersecretary Rene Glen Paje said around 97, 395 SAC forms have yet to be uploaded, while 154,356 Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries are still awaiting validation.

Paje reiterated the agency’s appeal to the the LGUs to immediately finish the uploading of the SAC forms and the validation to ensure that the concerned beneficiaries will receive their entitled SAP 2 cash assistance.

During a virtual press briefing on Tuesday, August 18, DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said the LGUs were given until August 19 to upload the SAC forms of over 300,000 SAP beneficiaries and validate the names of the 200,000 beneficiaries so that the DSWD can immediately process their entitled SAP subsidy as provided for under Republic Act No. 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act.

Paje said almost P80 billion worth of cash subsidies have been distributed to over 13.3 million beneficiaries n the 11 areas covered by the second phase implementation of SAP.

He said as of August 25, the DSWD has covered around 13, 364, 913 beneficiaries of the 14.1 million families targeted to receive the SAP 2 cash aid.

Included in the agency's latest list of SAP 2 beneficiaries are 1.38 million beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps); 5.79 million low-income, and non-4Ps recipients; 3.16 million “waitlisted”, low-income, and non-4Ps households nationwide; 1.75 million “waitlisted” beneficiaries from the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) areas; around 150, 695 Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) and public utility vehicles (PUVs) drivers, and 33, 336 drivers from the ECQ areas.

Paje said the DSWD is exhausting all means and has been coordinating closely with LGUs and its partner-Financial Service Providers (FSPs) to finish the distribution of the SAP the soonest possible time.

The DSWD was supposed to complete the digital and manual payouts of SAP 2 assistance by August 15.
