Omnibus Guidelines on COVID-19 testing not yet approved -- DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) said Sunday that the Omnibus Guidelines on COVID-19 testing are not yet approved.

The DOH issued the clarification after TruLaboratories Corp. said in a social media post that the “DOH has finally approved the use of Antigen Kits and is now included in the Omnibus Guidelines on COVID-19 Testing.”

“DOH clarifies that the Omnibus Guidelines on COVID-19 Testing HAS NOT YEN BEEN FINALIZED OR APPROVED, nor has it been signed and issued for implementation,” the department said.

“Moreover, while there are antigen kits approved for commercial use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), DOH DOES NOT ENDORSE specific brands or distributors,” it added.

The department reminded the public to be vigilant and verify information through the DOH’s official website and social media pages.
